Syncing cuts to the kick drum feels off lately

Been watching a lot of glitch edits recently. Everyone hits the snare with a rgb split but it feels... empty? Maybe I'm just old school but the anticipation before the drop hits harder when the visual waits a beat. Not sure if anyone else notices this. First post here after lurking for months.
